In September 1998 we hosted the 17th Workshop of the UK Planning and Scheduling Special Interest Group. This is a yearly forum where academics, industrialists and research students meet and discuss current issues in an informal workshop setting. In recent years the SIG has attracted an international gathering. Presented papers are refereed and published in a proceedings, and previous volumes now can be retrieved under ISSN 1368-5708. In April 2000 Diane Kitchin was symposium chair for the Symposium on Planning and Intelligent Agents, at the 2000 Convention of the Society for the Study of Artificial Intelligence and the Simulation of Behaviour (AISB-00).

With Alfredo Milina of the Univ of Perugia, Lee McCluskey was co-chair for PLANET's workshop on Automated Planning and Scheduling Technologies in New Methods of Electronic, Mobile and Collaborative Work which was a one day workshop co-located with ECP'01 to held in Toledo, Spain, in September, 2001.

He is workshop chair for Knowledge Engineering Tools and Techniques for AI Planning co-located with AIPS'02 to be held in Toulouse, France, April 2002.
